π£ Travel tips: Use Metrorail or Kiss and Fly drop-off at DCA or IAD to avoid traffic. | Getting Ready for 2025 Summer Travel | With the summer travel season taking off on Memorial Day weekend, IAD and DCA airports are ready to launch summer vacations to destinations across the United States and around the world. Check out new nonstop routes starting in May from IAD.
We’ve put together our annual Summer Travel Guide—packed with tips to help you make the most of new amenities, reduce stress, and save time.
Some important tips: π Reserve parking well in advance and join the PassPark rewards program. Earn points toward valuable rewards when parking at the airports. π Use the free Mobile Passport Control, or “MPC app,” for a faster trip through U.S. Customs when returning from an international trip. Global Entry also offers a free app that can save time at the airport. π Use Metrorail or Kiss and Fly drop-off at DCA or IAD to avoid traffic. In addition, there will be more police activity at the terminals to keep traffic moving on crowded curbsides. π Don’t forget to bring a Real ID or other TSA approved ID to the checkpoint to avoid delays.

Ώ️π | DCA Economy Parking Capacity Reductions | Parking Reservations Strongly Encouraged! | Parking capacity in DCA’s Economy Lot remains temporarily reduced to make way for the construction of a new parking structure. Due to this reduction in space, demand for parking in all facilities will be higher than normal during the summer peak months and through 2026.
We strongly encourage making advanced reservations to guarantee a parking space in your preferred facility prior to your arrival. | Save Time and Skip Congestion: Use Kiss & Fly and the Cell Phone Lot | IAD Airport: Picking up? Use the Cell Phone Lot to wait for arriving passengers. After they've collected their baggage, and exited the terminal, have them call you with the door number and level (departure or arrivals) where they are waiting. [See Google Map]
Dropping off? Use Kiss & Fly Drop-Off to save time. It's located at the Dulles Silver Line Metro station, which provides easy access to moving walkways that will take passengers straight to the terminal. Follow "Kiss & Fly Drop Off" signs and avoid curbside congestion. [See Google Map]
| DCA Airport: Kiss & Fly provides a quick route for those customers flying on Alaska, American, Delta, JetBlue, and United - with easy access to the North and South Security Checkpoints. Follow purple signs to “Kiss & Fly” which leads to a marked pull-off area between the Parking Garages and the Metro station.
