October Theory has gone viral, with over 36 million posts on the app discussing the transformative change October can bring about. Essentially, October is a mini January. With only 3 months left in the year, you're likely taking stock of what you've done so far, and what you hope to accomplish before the holiday blur. As resourceful self-starters, we're likely to feel this in all aspects of our lives, especially in our important personal projects. Perhaps you haven't hit a financial goal? Or found a business partner yet? Maybe you've designed your website, but haven't launched. Wherever you are on your journey, October is a great time to reevaluate your goals and set more realistic timelines for yourself. Great, but how do I do that? π€ (You might want to grab a piece of paper, or open up a blank document) A great way to work through October theory is to revisit the goals you set for yourself in 2024 and do the following: ✅ Step one Make note of and celebrate the things you've achieved on your list! Acknowledging what you have done is always a great step, especially if you work for yourself, or are passion-projecting on your own. ✅ Step two We can't predict the future. You probably have many wins you never set out to accomplish in the first place this year. What are they? Write them down! ✅ Step three Look through any goals you have yet to achieve and ask yourself- why? What was the initial reason for setting the goal? Does that "why" still feel valid? If yes: can you break your goal down into smaller, more manageable milestones? If no: can you remix it if your "why" has shifted? Or can you cross it off and acknowledge it no longer serves a purpose or your interests have changed? |
