With talks of layoffs, hiring freezes, and a looming recession, the side hustle has regained momentum in 2022. Folks all over the world (including me) are feeling the sting of inflation and are looking for better ways to reach financial independence - without committing a lot of time and money. We looked to Chris Guillebeau, owner of the Side Hustle Academy, and highlighted some tips he mentioned while he was on a book tour titled, you guessed it, Side Hustle:
- "A side hustle is something you do to create more options and freedom for yourself"
- "Create additional sources of income using the skills you already have."
- "The struggle is part of the journey. Look for ways to adjust your strategy if the path they're on isn't working."
- "Commit to an idea. Don't overthink it!"
- "Inspiration is good, but inspiration with action is better."
He claimed you could get the ball rolling in as little as 30-60 minutes a day. For me, this meant finally putting my arts and crafts skills to good use!
